For about a year, our garage door has been broken. We had to hold down the button to get it too close. So while I was working in out garage, i found the sensor the door uses to see if there are obstructions in the path of the door on the floor. Turns out the wires had been snapped off while we were moving stuff around. so what i did was strip some of the insulation back off the wires and reattached them to the sensor. This did end up fixing the problem, and i learned some basic electrical skills.
