First, I went to my local auto parts store and picked up my oil and an oil filter. You need an oil pan to drain the oil into. If you don’t have one, you need to get one. I drove my truck up onto ramps, put it into park, put on the parking brake, and chocked the wheels. Instead of ramps, you can also use a jack and jack stands.
Next, you need to find the drain plug on your vehicle. The location can vary, so you should Google it. Then, once you drain the oil out, you need to remove the oil filter. Some drive a screwdriver through it, but I use an oil filter removal tool. Once all the oil is out, you need to put the drain plug back in. You need to take your new filter and put some of your new oil on the seal. Look up how much oil your car holds, then put that much in through the oil filler cap using a funnel.
